BROWN BREAD 
4 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. salt
8 tbsp. shortening
3 c. boiling water
1 c. milk
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
2 env. dry yeast
1 1/2 lbs. graham flour (about 5 2/3 c.)
2 1/2 lbs. all-purpose flour (about 10 c., sifted)

Measure brown sugar, molasses, salt and shortening into a bowl. Add boiling water and milk. To 1/2 cup of lukewarm water add 1 tsp. sugar and yeast. When yeast has risen stir well and add to first mixture. Stir in graham flour and mix well, then gradually add bread flour until dough sticks together enough to be handled.
