PEACH COBBLER 
1 1/2 lbs. fresh, ripe peaches, peeled & sliced, about 3 c. or 2 (16 oz.) cans sliced peaches, packed in light syrup, drained
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. ground mace
1 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
2 lg. eggs, lightly beaten
6 tbsp. butter
Vanilla ice cream (opt.)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In medium size bowl toss peach slices, 1/4 cup sugar and mace; mix well; set aside.

In second bowl combine flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar and baking powder; stir in milk and eggs until just blended. Place batter in 9" square baking pan; set pan in oven until butter is melted and hot.
