WALDORF ASTORIA STEW 
2 lb. beef stew meat
1 c. celery, cut in 1 in. pieces
3 carrots, cut in 1 in. pieces
4 or 5 potatoes, quartered
2 med. onions, quartered
1 slice bread, tear into small pieces

2 tbsp. tapioca
1 tsp. sugar
1 lb. can tomatoes
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. all spice

Put meat in roaster, add vegetables and bread. Cover with seasoning mixture. Cover roaster. Bake for 5 1/2 hours at 250 degrees. Do Not brown meat.
