HONEY CHOCOLATE CAKE SQUARES 
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. honey
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, then continue beating while slowly adding honey. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, cocoa, salt, soda, and baking powder together 3 times. Add dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk and vanilla to creamed mixture.

Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cake tests done. Frost with favorite icing.
