GRANDMA'S SMOTHERED CHICKEN 
1 fryer cut in half. Flour heavy with salt and pepper added. Quickly brown both halves of chicken. Place chicken in baking dish with tight lid. Add 3 cups water. Bake in 350 degree oven about 1 hour or until tender. Remove chicken from pan and to the gravy that's there whip in 6 ounces sour cream. If you put this in the oven and go to church, reduce heat to 300 degrees.
