CROSSCUT PICKLE SLICES 
4 qts. cucumbers
1 1/2 c. onions
2 lg. garlic cloves
1/3 c. salt
2 trays ice cubes
4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
3 c. vinegar

Wash and slice cucumbers. Add onions, garlic, and salt. Cover with ice cubes for 3 hours. Combine sugar, spices, and vinegar. Heat just to a boil. Add drained cucumbers and bring to a boil. Pack in hot jars and put lids on.
