MEAT PIE 
1 to 2 c. cold broiled meat (beef or lamb, cut in 1 inch cubes)
Salt, pepper
2 c. boiling water
1/2 onion
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. potatoes, cut in 1/4 inch slices

Cover meat with boiling water, add onion, and cook slowly 1 hour. Thicken gravy with flour diluted with cold water, and season with salt and pepper. Add potatoes parboiled 8 minutes. Put in baking dish, cool, cover with pastry layer size of dish. Bake in hot oven 450 degrees. Other leftover vegetables such as peas, carrots, lima beans or corn may be added.
