CHOP SUEY 
1 1/2 lb. lean pork steaks, boned & cut into pieces
1 1/2 lb. beef stew
8 c. celery, chopped
6 c. onions, chopped
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. bead molasses
1 can Chinese vegetables with water
2 cans bean sprouts

Brown meat in Dutch oven. Salt to taste. Add soy sauce and molasses.

Saute onions in oil in another skillet until glassy. Put over meat. Brown celery in same pan. Salt to taste. Add to meat.

Cover meat with water and simmer about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Add vegetables and water from the can. Drain bean sprouts and rinse in cold water. Add sprouts to pot and simmer until done. Stir in mushrooms, bamboo shoots or water chestnuts (optional). Serve with rice or chow mein noodles.
