RED AND GREEN ICEBOX COOKIES 
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 c. sugar
3 beaten eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 sm. jar each red & green maraschino cherries, drained
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Cut up drained cherries quite fine and add along with chopped nuts. Make rolls, using wax paper or foil. Chill well or freeze and bake later. Set oven at 350 degrees. Slice and bake on greased cookie sheets for 15 minutes. Do not overbake.
