NEVER FAIL POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter with electric mixer. Add sugar, 1/2 cup at a time. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Bake 75 minutes at 325 in greased and floured 9 inch tube pan.
