2 c. sugar
2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
Dash of salt
3 tbsp. Karo syrup
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Marshmallows (handful)

Mix together sugar, chocolate squares, shortening, milk, salt and Karo syrup. Bring to a boil about a minute of hard boiling. Take from stove. Add butter, vanilla and marshmallows. Stir to consistency to spread or put in buttered pan for fudge or serve directly from stove for hot fudge sauce.
