5 1/2 - 6 lbs. pork or beef ribs 1 tbsp. butter or bacon drippings 1 c. chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1/2 c. liquid brown sugar 1 c. ketchup 2 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. water Roast ribs in hot oven (450 degrees) for 45 minutes. Pour off drippings. Saute onions and garlic in butter. Add remaining ingredients and boil for 30 minutes. Pour sauce over ribs; cover and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover, baste, and bake 30-40 minutes longer or until tender. Skim off fat. Serves 6. |
