FRENCH CHOCOLATE PIE 
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cocoa
12 crushed Ritz crackers
1/2 c. pecans (or walnuts or almonds)
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

1/2 pt. whipping cream
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cocoa

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add sugar and cocoa. Beat until stiff. Fold in 12 crushed Ritz crackers, pecans and vanilla. Bake in well greased pie plate for 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Let cool.

Mix 1/2 pint whipping cream, powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon cocoa. Spread on top of pie.
