2 lbs. pork roast cut into cubes 2 lbs. beef, cut into cubes 1 whole stewing hen 1 beef soup bone Cover this with water; salt to taste. Cook slowly until meat is 1/2 done. Remove bones and add: 1 1/2 lbs. onions (sm. and diced fine) 1 whole bunch celery, chopped Cook 2 hours and add salt and pepper to taste. Also: 4 whole allspice 6-7 whole potatoes, diced 1/4 head cabbage 2 cans green beans 2 cans tomatoes or 1 qt. home canned Cook 1 hour and add: 2 cans corn or cut from cob Cook 1/2 hour more. |
