ITALIAN DATE, NUT & CHERRY CAKE 
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1 pt. sour cream
2 tbsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 shot Whiskey
1/2 c. orange juice
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chopped cherries

Cream together the eggs, sugar, butter, sour cream and vanilla. Add the flour and baking soda. Mix thoroughly. Fold in dates, nuts and cherries. Pour into a greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes (remember all ovens vary). When cake removed and still hot, pour the orange juice and the whiskey over the top. Allow cake to cool for at least 4 hours or overnight.
