SAND TARTS 
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

1/2 c. ground nuts
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Roll out thin and cut into circles. Spread with beaten egg whites mixed with nuts, sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees (preheat) for about 20 minutes. Stores well.
