TOASTED ALMOND CHOCOLATE DESSERT 
Cream 1/2 cup butter and 2 cups powdered sugar. Add 3 egg yolks, 2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate, 1 teaspoon vanilla (or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon almond). Add 3 stiffly beaten, but not dry, egg whites.

Crust 6 1/4 ounce box or more vanilla wafers in bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Spread chocolate mixture on top. Sprinkle 3/4 cup toasted almond on top of dessert. Slice ice cream thin and place on top (butter brickle, chocolate, vanilla, or other flavor). Wafer crumbs on top are good addition. Freeze 6 hours.
