1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. self rising flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lg. onion, chopped fine
1 egg
2/3 c. sweet milk

Mix all ingredients. Let stand 1/2 to 1 hour before cooking. Drop by teaspoons into hot grease after frying fish.
