APPLE CANDY 
4 pkg. plain gelatin
1 c. cold unsweetened, strained applesauce
1 1/2 c. applesauce
4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped nuts

Soak gelatin in 1 cup applesauce. Mix the 1 1/2 cups of applesauce and sugar. Boil to dissolve sugar completely. Stir in soaked gelatin and boil exactly 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour into buttered pan (about 1/4 inch thickness or a little more). Cover and leave in refrigerator overnight. Cut into small bite-size squares and roll in powdered sugar. Store in dry, covered container.
