1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs, orange peel and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. While cookies are warm, frost with Orange Icing. Makes 6 dozen.

ORANGE ICING:

Combine: 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. orange juice

Stir in 3 cups powdered sugar.
