DATE NUT MAYONNAISE CAKE 
1 c. cut up pitted dates
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
2 c. unsifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. chopped nuts

Grease and flour 13x9 inch cake pan. Mix dates, 1 tsp. baking soda and boiling water in large bowl. Cool. Add flour, sugar, mayonnaise, remaining 1 tsp. baking soda and nuts. Beat until mixture is well blended. Turn into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes or until cake tests done. Serve warm with your favorite lemon sauce.
