SCALLOPED TOMATOES 
1 (#2) can tomatoes (2 1/2 c.)
1 onion, diced
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. stale bread cubes or cracker crumbs
1/4 c. butter

Mix ingredients lightly in greased casserole, dotting butter on top. Bake at 425 degrees for about 30 minutes.
