TOLL HOUSE COOKIES | |
1 1/2 c. sifted plain flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 stick of butter, softened 6 tbsp. white sugar 6 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 egg, beaten 1 pkg. chocolate chips (6 oz.) 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts Sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar, then set aside. With an electric mixer, beat the butter, white sugar, brown sugar and egg together. Add the sifted ingredients and beat until well blended. Add the chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Then add the vanilla. Mix the ingredients well. If the mixture is too stiff, add a few drops of boiling water. Drop by half-spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes. |
