OATMEAL - MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. quick oatmeal

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, soda, ginger, salt and cloves. Add shortening, egg and molasses. Beat well. Stir in the oatmeal. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 11 minutes. Wait a few minutes before removing from pan.

Makes 36 cookies. Do not overbake.
