DUTCH OLY BOLLEN | |
3 1/4 c. flour 2 pkg. dry yeast 1 c. milk 1/4 c. shortening 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 3 egg yolks Cooking oil Powdered sugar Combine 2 cups flour and yeast. Heat milk, shortening, 1/3 cup sugar and salt until warm; stir occasionally. Add vanilla; milk mixture, eggs and egg yolks to dry ingredients. Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute. Beat at high speed for 3 minutes. Stir in 1 1/4 cup flour and cover. Let rise until dough is double original mass. Drop tablespoons of dough into deep hot fat, 375 degrees. Fry 3 minutes. Dough should turn light brown. Drain on paper towel. Serve immediately sprinkled with powdered sugar. |
