MOM'S BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. butter

Sift together flour, sugar and salt. In saucepan, put butter, oil, water and cocoa. Bring to boil and pour over flour mixture; mix well.

In separate bowl, beat eggs; add soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir; add to flour mixture. Bake in greased and floured cookie sheet, one inch deep, at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and cocoa together, then add other ingredients.
