CHOCOLATE COOKIE SANDWICH 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk
1 c. boiling water

Cream sugar with shortening. Beat in eggs and cocoa. Add remaining ingredients and beat until well mixed. Bake at 475 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.

FILLING:

4 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Cook flour with milk until thickened. Cool. Beat remaining ingredients together and when first mixture cools, beat it into this mixture until it has the consistency of whipped cream. You may substitute all Crisco for the mixture of Crisco and butter in the filling.
