JULIA'S SUGAR DROP COOKIES 
3 3/4 c. cake flour, sifted before measuring
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sweet milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour with baking powder, soda, and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time to shortening and sugar mixture, beating well between each addition. Add vanilla to milk, then add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed sugar mixture. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased 10x14 inch cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan to cake cooler immediately after baking. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
