BEER BUNS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
4 c. flour (approximately)

FILLING:

Ham, Spam, or roast beef, chopped (ham is best)
1 lg. onion, ground
Pepper

Sprinkle yeast in water; let stand a few minutes. Stir until dissolved. Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm; add yeast, egg and 2 cups flour. Beat well. Add enough flour to make dough not stick to bowl. Knead; place in greased bowl until doubled. Put 1 teaspoon meat mixture in middle of ball dough like a bun shape. Flatten and pinch together tightly. Place gathered side on cookie sheet. Let rise. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
