PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP SURPRISE | |
1/2 c. butter 2/3 c. brown sugar 1 egg 1 1/3 c. all purpose flour 3/4 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. sliced walnuts 1/2 c. peanut butter 1 c. chocolate chips Melt butter in 2 quart saucepan, add sugar and mix well. Make sure butter is warm, not hot. Add egg and beat until light colored or until the mixture has a thin layer of egg white on it. Sift flour with soda and stir into egg mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. The mixture should be sticky. Add peanut butter and stir. Then add chocolate chips and stir. Heat oven to 357 degrees. Let the oven heat for 5 minutes otherwise the oven will be too hot (if you preheat oven too long). Bake for 7 to 10 minutes. Remove at once, then let cool for 5 minutes. Take mixture out of the pan and put on a plate. (Pan must be 1 inch high, 18 inches long and 12 inches wide.) Remember to put the sliced walnuts on the cookies when you take them out of the oven. |
