1 dozen eggs 1 1/2 lbs. butter or shortening 4 c. brown sugar 4 c. white sugar 1 c. molasses 2 lbs. mixed peel 1 piece of citron 2 lbs. currants 2 lbs. raisins 1 lb. figs 1 lb. dates 3 c. black coffee 2 c. crushed pineapple 2 c. sour cherries 2 c. cooked peaches 2 c. nut meats 3 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. ginger 1 tbsp. nutmeg 6 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. vanilla After 9 cups flour put in 1 teaspoon baking powder for every cup of flour. Bake at 300 degrees for about 1 hour or until done, test with broom straw. |
