LOVELIGHT YELLOW 2 EGG CHIFFON CAKE | |
2 eggs, separated 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. Wesson oil 1 c. milk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Heat oven to 350 degrees. Oil lightly, dust with flour two layer cake pans, 8 or 9 inch or one 9 x 13 inch pan. Beat egg whites until frothy. Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until stiff. In another bowl, sift remaining sugar, flour, baking powder, salt. Add oil, half of milk, vanilla. Beat for 1 minute. Fold in meringue. Pour into pans. Bake layers for 30 to 35 minutes, oblong for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool, frost with desired frosting. |
