COCOA FUDGE CAKE | |
3/4 c. butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 eggs, separated 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. red food coloring 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour 1/2 c. cocoa (regular type dry) 3 tsp. baking powder Cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla and food coloring. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with 1 cup cold water, beating after each addition. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold into batter. Bake in 2 greased and floured 9 x 1 1/2 inch round pans at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. |
