COCOA FUDGE CAKE 
2 c. cake flour or 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs (lg.)
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour baking pan, 13x9x2 inches, or 2 round layer pans, 8 or 9x1 1/2 inches. Measure all ingredients into large bowl. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pans.

Bake oblong 35-40 minutes, layers 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. (I get lots of praise on this recipe every time I bake it!)
