EVA'S BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
2 lg. eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugar, eggs, butter, and shortening. Add baking powder to flour and cocoa. Add to creamed mixture. Then add buttermilk. Then add baking soda to water and add last. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Test with toothpick to see that it is done. Frost with a cooked icing. Yields 12 servings.
