BASIC PIE CRUST 
2 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt

Stir together with fork or pastry cutter until it is crumbly. Add 1/4 cup water. Mix together with your hands. Divide in half and roll out. Place in pie dish. Add filling and bake according to pie directions. You may put crust in oven at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool and add filling that doesn't need baking. Makes 2 single crusts.
