MEAT LOAF PASTRY | |
3 c. flour 1 1/2 c. butter MEAT LOAF: 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lb. fresh mushrooms 1 med. onion 1 stalk celery 2 tbsp. catsup GRAVY: 1 can cream of mushroom soup Add enough milk to make gravy consistency and heat and blend thoroughly. Serve over sliced portion of meat loaf. Pastry: Cut together, add just enough ice water to moisten ingredients. Form into a ball. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Meat loaf: Saute sliced fresh mushrooms, onion, celery (minced) until tender. Remove from heat. Add catsup and beef. Roll out half of pastry into rectangle. Place half of meat mixture down the center of pastry. Fold ends over and seal. Place seam side down on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Bake 375 degrees 1 hour 15 minutes. Slice and serve with gravy over top. |
