BEST FUDGEY PECAN BROWNIES
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
Chocolate Pecan Frosting (recipe follows)
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Pecan halves

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease square 8 x 8 x 2 inch or 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. In large mixing bowl, blend melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs. Using spoon, beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; blend into egg mixture. Stir in pecans. Spread in prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare frosting. Spread warm frosting over warm brownies. Garnish with pecan halves. Cool completely; cut into squares. Makes about 16 brownies.

CHOCOLATE PECAN FROSTING:

3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
2 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 c. chopped pecans

In small mixer bowl, place confectioners' sugar; set aside. In small saucepan, melt butter; stir in cocoa, blending until smooth. Add milk; stir constantly over low heat until slightly thickened. Pour hot mixture over confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla and pecans.

(The brownies are good with or without the frosting. Besides, this is quick and easy to make. My kind of recipe!)
