MOM'S MOLASSES COOKIES 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. lard or shortening
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
Flour enough to roll (keep dough soft)

Mix sugar, lard, molasses, salt, soda, and ginger together. Beat well. Add flour sparingly. Chill dough, then roll and cut in desired shapes. Sprinkle with sugar and bake until done.
