POPPY SEED CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. ground poppy seed
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda, add to sour cream
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg whites, beaten stiff

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add vanilla, poppy seed and nuts. Add flour alternately with sour cream and beat until smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in tube pan for 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees.
