BAKED EGG CUSTARD 
6 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar (more if desired)
6 c. scalded milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg

Moderate oven - 350 degrees. Combine eggs, salt and sugar. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into baking cups, sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired. Bake until firm or knife inserted in center comes out clean.

I use this recipe for a base for bread pudding and rice pudding. When using, as such, add raisins and drained canned fruit if desired.
