POLLY VARNER'S COOKIES 
2 c. sifted flour
1 beaten egg yolk
1/2 lb. butter
3/4 c. sour milk
3/4 c. nuts
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. brown sugar

ICING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Enough milk to thin

Mix butter and flour, add milk and egg yolk and mix well. Chill dough for 3 hours.

FILLING MIXTURE: Mix nuts, sugar, cinnamon and brown sugar together and set aside. Divide dough into 3 parts. Roll out and cut into circle made with a pie pan turned upside down. Spread each circle with 1/3 of filling. Cut each circle into 12 to 14 wedges. Roll up wedges starting at wide end and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Drizzle icing over cookies while they are still hot.
