QUICK CHERRY PIE | |
1 baked pie shell 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. cornstarch 1/8 tsp. salt 2 (16 oz.) cans pitted tart red cherries (water pack), drained 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1/3 c. sliced almonds 1. Bake pie shell. Set aside. Blend sugar, cornstarch and salt in medium bowl. Stir in cherries. 2. Microwave at High (100%) until mixture is translucent, 8 to 11 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in almond extract. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle with almonds. Makes 9" pie. |
