DILLY CASSEROLE BREAD | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 c. creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. minced onion 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. dill weed 1 unbeaten egg 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 c. flour Soften yeast in water. Combine the cottage cheese, salt, sugar, onion, butter, dill, egg, soda and softened yeast in a mixing bowl. Add flour to form stiff dough, beating well after adding each ingredient. Cover. Let rise in warm place until light and double in size. Stir down. Put into a greased 8" round casserole. Let rise in warm place for 30 minutes, or until light. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown. Brush loaf with butter and sprinkle with garlic salt. Makes 1 loaf. |
