MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN | |
16 c. popped corn 1 c. brown sugar 1 stick butter 1/4 c. Karo light syrup 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda Put popped corn in a large brown paper bag. In two 2 1/2 quart bowl combine brown sugar, butter, syrup and salt. Bring to a boil on high power for 3 minutes. Stir mixture, boil for 1 minute, stir, boil for 1 minute, stir, boil for 1 minute. Remove and stir in baking soda until foamy. Pour foamy mixture over popped corn in sack and use a wooden spoon to stir corn and syrup in sack. Roll sack down 2 folds and place in microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds on high. Remove sack and shake. Place in oven for another 1 minute and 15 seconds. Remove and shake. Place in oven for 30 seconds more. Spread on waxed paper. |
