OKRA TOMATO GUMBO 
1 med. size onion, chopped
1 pt. chopped okra

Saute this slowly in 3 tbsp. bacon grease. When tender, not brown, add 3 or 4 ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped. Cover skillet and simmer 15 minutes. (Add hot peppers if desired.) Salt and pepper to suit taste and 1 tsp. sugar.
