CHICKEN STRATA 
8 slices day old bread
2 c. cooked diced chicken
1/2 c. chopped onion
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. milk
1 can mushroom soup

Butter 2 slices bread. Cut into cubes and set aside. Cut remaining bread into cubes and place 1/2 in bottom of baking dish.

Combine chicken, vegetables, mayonnaise, salt and dash of pepper; spoon over bread cubes. Sprinkle remaining cubes over chicken mixture. Combine eggs and milk. Pour over all.

Cover and chill 1 hour or overnight. Spoon soup over top. Sprinkle with buttered cubes. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until set. Sprinkle cheese over top last few minutes of baking.
