POOR MAN CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
3 c. unsifted flour 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa 1 tsp. salt 2 c. granulated sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. white or cider vinegar 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2/3 c. vegetable oil 2 c. lukewarm water Bake in a 13x9 inch ungreased cake pan. Sift baking soda, flour, cocoa, salt and sugar into the ungreased baking pan. (If you don't want to sift the ingredients, just stir them together.) Make 3 holes in the dry mixture. Into one put vinegar, in another the vanilla, and the third the oil. Pour the water over all then stir gently with a spoon. Be sure to cover the entire pan bottom and go into the corners so no pockets of dry ingredients remain unmixed. Stir the batter creamy and smooth. Wipe off the edge of the pan. Put the pan in the preheated oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes. Oven must be 350 degrees. |
