PORK CHOPS WITH GRAVY 
4 lean pork chops
Salt
Pepper
1 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1/3 c. water
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper. Brown chops in shortening on both sides over medium heat. Drain off drippings. Pour around chops a mixture of cream of mushroom soup, evaporated milk and water. Cover and cook chops and gravy, about 45 minutes over low heat; stir occasionally until chops are tender.
