NM POPPY SEED DRESSING 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. white vinegar
3 tbsp. grated onion
2 c. light salad oil
3 tbsp. poppy seeds

Mix sugar, mustard, salt and vinegar. Add grated onion and stir it in thoroughly. Add oil slowly, beating constantly, and continue to beat until thick. Add poppy seeds and beat. Store in the refrigerator. This will keep for several weeks. This is excellent poured over a fresh fruit salad just before serving.
